Low Stock Alerts That Actually Work (Without the Panic)

Low stock alerts are supposed to help you reorder in time. In practice, they often do the opposite: either they fire so often that you tune them out, or they come so late that you're already out of stock.

Set a reorder point that's based on real usage. How many days of stock do you want before you reorder? Multiply your average daily sales by that number and use it as the threshold. Only flag items that actually matter; don't alert on every SKU or you'll get alert fatigue.

Then keep alerts in one place: inside the app you use daily, or in a daily digest, not scattered across email and push. One clear list of "order this soon" is enough. Simple, actionable, and you might actually use it.
