Do you need your data to stay put? Look for real-time sync, offline-first design, and a clear story on how updates are tested. Did support go silent? Prefer a vendor that states response times and gives you a direct contact. Were you stuck in a long contract? Look for monthly billing and easy export so you can leave if needed.

Export your current data (customers, products, opening balances) before you leave. Then pick a tool that can import or at least give you a simple format to paste into. A smooth switch means you're live in the new app without re-entering everything by hand.
